There is nothing like sewing on a treadle sewing machine.

They used to play in the center of the four treadles in the breakfast nook and never hurt themselves. I always warned them to never put hands or fingers in the fly wheels and no feet under the foot treadle. They listened.

Grandma misses those cute LITTLE feet.
